Our Founders and Directors

Aaron Johnson – Co-Founder

Aaron_JohnsonAaron’s contributions to the circus and trampoline industry have been immense. Aaron launched his trampoline career with the Nissen Corporation (inventor of the modern day trampoline), performing for George Nissen’s company for years. Aaron has coached some of the world’s best acrobats and trampolinists, most notably, running Canada’s National trampoline team from 1976-1999. In 2000, Aaron was asked to coach for Cirque du Soleil’s Mystere.

After his retirement from Cirque, Aaron continued his love for circus arts by opening the Vancouver Circus School with his son Travis. Aaron has been a catalyst in the development of Trampoline Coaching Education, having developed a safety manual that would eventually be known worldwide. Collaborating with some of the world’s finest trampoline experts, such as Dr. Fred Yeadon, Dave Ross, and Boris Verkhovsky, as well as many other Canadian trampoline specialists, Aaron produced the safest, most progressive system for teaching trampoline possible: the NCCP Trampoline Technical Manual. Furthermore, Aaron was a lifetime member of the Canadian Gymnastics Federation, International Trampoline Federation, and Gymnastics BC. Sadly, Aaron Johnson passed away unexpectedly in 2012; since then Gymnastics Canada named the Trampoline Service Award the Aaron Johnson Memorial Award.
